Linda Brook MBE
Linda has worked in a variety of educational establishments as bursar, ranging from a 1,200-pupil secondary school to a 90-pupil primary school and a number of local authorities.
She currently leads City of York Council's School Business Support team, which provides a range of financial and resource management challenge, support and training to schools.
In 2004 the team piloted an innovative peripatetic school business manager service in three primary schools. This is now provided as a service to the LA’s schools and is held as an examplar service nationally. The team is currently delivering a DCSF funded shared SBM pilot in a group of 6 small schools.
She has recently graduated from a MSc Multimedia and eLearning course and hopes to use her new skills to enhance training for school staff.
Linda was made a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) in HM Queen’s 2004 New Year Honours list for services to education in York.
