Robert Farmer is Vice Principal and Business Manager at Upper Shirley High. Since joining in August 2004 Robert has been instrumental in the school’s change in status to a foundation school in January 2008 followed by the move to a co-operative trust school in April 2009.

Robert chairs the Upper Shirley Learning Community Partnership which manages learning and business matters across a cluster of 7 schools. He also plays an active role across Southampton and sits on the ICT Project Strategy Board and the IT Forum.

In addition to this, Robert is a founding board member, alongside Principal Cassie Ellins, of the Co-operative Trust Schools Network.

Prior to joining Upper Shirley High, Robert was Financial Director for an international software company operating in the global financial markets. Robert project managed the successful flotation of the company in March 2004.
