Teresa Buckley
Senior Assistant Headteacher
Dover Grammar School for Boys
Seconded to
Dover Extended Services

For the past six years, I have been a member of the Senior Leadership Team at Dover Grammar School for Boys where I have untaken a range of different roles. My current position is shared between Dover Grammar School for Boys and a seconded role to the Dover, Deal and Sandwich cluster of schools with the responsibility of developing Extended Services and Community links.

I chair the Dover Extended Services Secondary Forum and work closely with the 42 Primary Schools developing projects to support raising aspirations and expectations in an area of severe cultural and economic deprivation. Dover Extended Services – is the first ‘cluster’ of schools nationwide, to gain Extended Schools Status as a cluster – 53 schools in all.

I am a Community Lead Practitioner with the Specialist Schools and Academies Trust and am supporting and developing networks of local practitioners working in the Community dimension of their school’s specialism.

With regard to fund raising, I regularly write bids for my school. I am Chair of the Hugh and Montague Leney (Travelling) Awards Trust for young people, regularly assessing bids against the Trust’s criteria. As a Trustee of Thanet Community Development Trust, I set up a ‘Small Grants’ Award to support local voluntary organisations and set the criteria against which these bids would be assessed.
