Cassie Ellins arrived at Bellemoor Boys’ School in 2004. The school went into Special Measures a term after her arrival but came out after a year.
Since then the school has been recognised for its outstanding improvements and has now been transformed into co-educational Upper Shirley High, with girls in Years 7 and 8 and recruiting directly from its local area, working in close partnerships with the schools in the Upper Shirley Learning Community.
Cassie is currently the chair of the 14-19 Consortium in Southampton, is a trustee of the Children’s Trust and sits on the Schools Forum. Cassie is also vice-chair of the Maths and Computing Colleges National Steering Group.
